“ Dear mom,
When I was little, I always heard them talking about you. They would say, ‘Joy doesn’t have her presence of mind.’ Well it seems that I have it for you.
I’ve kept the old key to the front door … every thing else an every one, long gone …What good is a key to a door that no longer exists? Holding it allows me entry … you exist there with me. Not a ghost or a spirit but a tangible presence of mind.”

Both the installation and the book remain my ongoing process.
